We started with a visit to the Sulphur mountain summit using Banff Gondola. The vistas from top are great and you get a hint of what is to come!
The town of Banff is small but charming, Good restaurants and Coffee shops all around.
Lake Louise
Next day we visited Lake Louise. A sapphire-whitish colored lake fed by glaciers. The color is due to the rock particles brought down by the glaciers grinding the mountain side.
Since we were in the area for 2 more days we visited this beautiful lake at different times to see somewhat changing colors.
Lake Louise Ski Resort>
Lake Moraine
Lake Moraine is close by too. This one has super bluish color(different from Lake Louise). A small hike leads to a stunning view point where you can see the blue lake surrounded my multiple craggy peaks.
This is a poster card /surreal sight and is widely used as the face of Canadian Rockies in web. It is hard not to be awed by this jaw dropping sight.
