Budapest - Day tour from Vienna

Budapest is the capital city of the country Hungary. Budapest is in fact two parts : Buda and Pest divided by the Danube river and linked by a bridge across the. Budapest has served as a capital city in history before too. We took a daytour from Vienna to visit Budapest. Our tour guide picked us up from our hotel in Vienna. We had around 6 hours to spend in Budapest excluding the journey time from Vienna (around 2.5hrs oneway)

Heroes' square is one of the main attractions in Budapest. It is dedicated to the Hungarian war heroes like Kings, freedom fighters in its 1000 year old history. The first part of our tour was 1 hour to spend around the main square of Pest i.e the Heroes' Square. We then had lunch and the took the bus to Matthias Church in Buda. Later we had around 1 hour to tour around Pest before we could return to Vienna by bus.

Matthias Church is unlike other churches, it has a NeoGothic architecture and is very unique and beautiful. It is named after King Matthias who remodelled the church in Gothic style in 15th century.

Being Indians, we were pleased to witness Parade of Lord Krishna conducted by Iskcon followers in Heroes Square.
