Iceland, the land of fire and glaciers was always on our bucket list. We visited this surreal country in beginning of August. The weather was fine though a bit cloudy and rainy at places (typical of iceland any time). Iceland has a short summer which doesn't begin till July. When we went there was lush greenery all around! Note that by september, the snow starts in some locations and temperatures fall driving the landscape dry and brown. We landed at Keflavik and rented a car for the whole duration. Rental Car is a must if you want to explore iceland as tour busses rarely offer all the destinatins you want to see besides lacking flexibility which is important since weather changes here all the time! We stayed here for 5 full days and 5 nights which was enough to see most of the highlights from Kirkjufell on the east of Reykjavik to the jokulsarlon Glacial lagoon on the west. We didnt have time to complete a circle around the island but the scenery we covered was more than enough to satisfy everything we wanted to see in iceland namely: Glaciers, stunning waterfalls, blacksand beaches, geothermal spas, geysers and hotsprings! We have divided the destination info into 4 sections based on their proximity to Reykjavik, Golden circle, Vatnajokull glacier and Kirkjufell.

Vatnajokull Glacier, Vik

Goldencircle, Skogafoss, Seljalandsfoss

Reykjavik and Blue Pools
